Lifting equipment, also known as lifting gear, is a general term for any equipment that can be used to lift and lower loads.
Types of lifting equipment includes heavy machinery such as the patient lift, overhead cranes, forklifts, building cradles, passenger lifts, and can also include smaller accessories such as chains, hooks, and rope.
Generally, this equipment is used to move material that cannot be moved with manual labor, and are tools used in most work environments, such as warehouses, and is a requirement for most construction projects, such as bridges and buildings. This equipment can also be used to equip a larger number of packages and goods, requiring less persons to move material. Lifting equipment includes any form of equipment that is used for vertical lifting, and equipment used to move material horizontally is not considered lifting equipment, nor is equipment designed to support. As lifting equipment can be dangerous to use, it is a common subject of safety regulations in most countries, and heavy machinery usually requires certified workers to limit workplace injury.
Lifting accessories are pieces of equipment that are used to attach the load to lifting equipment, providing a link between the two. Any lifting accessories used between lifting equipment and the load may need to be taken into account in determining the overall weight of the load.
Examples of lifting accessories include:
Fiber or rope slings
chains (single or multiple leg)
hooks
eyebolts
spreader beams
magnetic (PDF) and vacuum devices
RIGGING ACCESSORIES
D-SHACKLE
WEBBING BELT
WEBBING SLINGS:Webbing slings are flexible, lightweight and have a wide bearing surface, which helps protect the load you are lifting. Webbing slings are the most popular type of slings, and their stretchy characteristics help minimize shock loading problems.
FIBER ROPE: What types of fibers are used to make rope slings? Fibers used to make rope slings generally fall into two categories: Natural such as abaca (Manila) fiber. Synthetic, including: nylon, polyester, polypropylene, Kevlar.
FIBER ROPESingle Leg Chain Sling is a length of chain with fittings on each end used for lifting in a vertical hitch. This sling chain can be combined with unlimited fittings to suit your application. Double Leg Chain Sling Two single leg chain slings joined by an oblong at the top.

EYE BOLTS:An eye bolt is a bolt with a loop at one end. They are used to firmly attach a securing eye to a structure, so that ropes or cables may then be tied to it.
SPREADER BEAM:
It is the easiest element in the world, but overall the notion is quite sound.
