Facebook in collaboration with Ray Ban launched facebook glasses. The new product received pretty descent response considering the reaction to the Google Glass back in 2014. Ray Ben stories are now available with better specs at the price of $299. Tech analysts hope that this could follow the success of Apple watch. Apple watch also started slow before becoming a hit.
What to expect:
The glasses come with two cameras on each side. The 5mp camera could record a video and photos. You can manage the captured photos in the facebook view app. All you have to do is to press the button on the right to capture a photo or record 30 sec video. Smart glasses are equipped with 6-hr battery life and 4GB storage. Thanks to its built-in speakers, you can also receive calls and play audios.
Privacy Concerns:
With ongoing allegations around Facebook’s privacy, it could be very risky for this new product. European regulators came up with a privacy issue with the device’s hardware. The light that indicates recording is not clearly visible to the public. In order to play it safe, Facebook is keeping a low profile in advertisements also. The bold advertisement at Times Square is one example with all the focus on ray Ben’s branding.
